general:
As far as appearance goes, Dorian is extremely self conscious. He was raised around two significantly older and significantly taller and far more intelligent boys. Dorian was forever considering himself to be the last person anyone would give a second look. Dorian gives a great deal of concern over his looks and his appearance. Dorian is the last person in the world willing to step outside his front door dressed strangely, he's very conscious of what people think of him and what they say about him. Dorian is quite a simple person when it comes to apparel, he's quite happy to walk around in a pair of jeans and a top and a jacket. Dorian has never really minded about what he wears, but no matter what he will continually tell himself what he is wearing isn't good enough or he doesn't look right.
Dorian has semi-long blonde hair, it's often got quite a bed-head look about it. Dorian prefers to have it that way, even though he doesn't particularly feel other people like it. Dorian looks a lot like his father, apparently. Dorian is quite tall, standing at six foot and counting. He isn't very physically active, but he enjoys doing things like soccer and football on occasion. Dorian doesn't really eat a lot, so he keeps his weight down. He is conscious of his weight, and feels like he can't put any more weight on without worrying about becoming 'overweight' in his mind. Despite all this, he likes to dress how he feels comfortable and not how other people expect him to nor does he like to bend to traditions of clothing. His actual appearance is far more important to him. Being the youngest and also often considered the 'weediest' of all of his siblings Dorian finds he has to compensate by attempting to have a better look than his brothers.
He doesn't really consider himself to be very good looking though, despite the amount of time he spends on how he looks. It's mostly a cover up of his insecurities. Dorian has a very distinctive mark on the left side of his face, and all his family have been blessed with freckles, which are especially prominent in the summer or during heat. Dorian is actually quite into soccer and basketball, and plays them both, although he does it simply for recreation as apposed to a way of keeping fit.

personality:
Although occasionally not outwardly obvious, Dorian has a very sunny disposition with his life. He grew up in a large family, but at the same time was surrounded by many relatives, who, like him, shared an optimistic outlook on life. Raised almost soltely by his grandmother, Katherine, and his two older brothers, Dorian was rarely subjected to anything directly pessimistic. He grew up on an English council estate in London before moving to America when he was five years old. Dorian was enrolled in Upfront Theatre at a very young age, having a strong interest in pursuing his father's chosen career after watching his own father fail at it. Dorian developed a very stong dislike for his father in recent years, although denies he has a grudge against his father. He has mentioned several times to his father how much he hates that he's trying to live the life he failed to live through him.
Dorian has talents in the cultural side of things, including comedy, acting and painting. Dorian believes strongly that he inherited his talents from his father, who is a drama teacher and was once an aspiring actor himself. However, Dorian believes his father lacked strength in his deliveries and confidence when on stage, and he believes he has indeed inherited his mother's bluntless and strength of character. Both combined, Dorian hopes very much that he'll be able to do what his father couldn't, and that was become an actor or comedian.
Dorian is very laid back at times, and rarely takes anything seriously, especially not things that he does in life. He has been described as some what emotionally devoid at the best of times, not really understanding or knowing how to deal with things that would otherwise reduce other people to tears or break people down. Dorian lost his grandmother several years ago, and although very sad about it, didn't really show it at all. He, in fact, began to write jokes about it into his material when he performed stand up, which, obviously, didn't go down awfully well with his parents. However, writing it down and laughing about things is the only true way Dorian has really known how to deal with things, and therefore laughter is important for his well being and the way he deals with things. He often makes jokes during awkward times.
His personality could also be described as quite quirky, breaking away from the conventional. In his stand up comedy he is unafraid to make jokes about taboo subjects, and in plays and musicals he isn't afraid to take roles which would otherwise make people feel they were being patronized. Dorian likes to take everything as a new challenge and something he has to put everything into, his heart and soul to make it work. His personality has also been described as some what eccentric and unconventional, and Dorian has no problem being sponataneous and quick witted.
When growing up, during every holiday which involves the family being together, his older brothers and cousins would all sleep outside in a tent in the garden. This was to avoid the arguments inside between their aunts, uncles and their parents. Dorian became increasingly close to his brothers as a result, despite the large age gap. Dorian often employs this idea every christmas, and although he is now getting older and his brothers are too, they still make the tent up outside and go drink out in the back, as it has now become a tradition between them all. Dorian sometimes does this when he's not feeling too well or feeling upset, and takes a tent out to the gardens of his apartment and puts it up and sits in there at night to try and mull things over.
Dorian despises ever being upset or being down, and if he does have to show it, then he prefers to be alone when he does. He would rather everyone believe that he never feels down or upset with people then he will disappear for a while and return when he is feeling better. Several of his friends and co-workers and classmates will say they have never see Dorian down or upset, and although it is rare for him to do so, it occasionally does happen. Dorian is naturally an optimist though and always hopes and thinks for the best. He always refers that the glass is 'half full' as a opposed to it being 'half empty'. He sees the world as a positive place, but also notes the faults and problems with it and the people in society and comments on it durinf his stand up and gigs. Dorian gets out all his beliefs and feelings on stage, so off stage he doesn't have to talk about it so much. He is the same person on stage as he is offstage, but when stepping up on stage he is extroverted and then offstage he tends to be a lot more introverted. Dorian likes to take a lot of risks, however, and is willing to take large risks in order to further himself in life. This, he believes, sets him apart from the rest of his family.
Unlike his mother, who is a very big Oscar Wilde fan, Dorian himself, while also a fan, prefers Mark Twain. Dorian is a fan of British comedy, as well as the occasion American show. He is a big fan of Whose Line Is It Anyway? and his love for improvisation comedy was spawned from watching the show. Dorian doesn't watch an awful lot of television and had proclaimed several times that there are far better things he could (and will) do with his time than become a couch potato. He refuses to become a slave to media, and doesn't spend a lot of time on the internet or reading magazines either. However, this being said, Dorian can be found sitting infront of the TV watching something, although he will point blankly deny he was doing anything of the sort.
Dorian absolutely despises being wrong, although it has to be said it's very surprising when Dorian isn't wrong. Most of the time he'd got the wrong end of the stick or understood something wrong. He's absolutely terrible at taking hints, and probably wouldn't realize a girl was into him untill they point blankly said it to his face, and even then he'd be quite skeptical about it all to say the least. Dorian sticks to his gun though, although clearly knows that he's wrong. He finds it hard to come to terms with being wrong so often, and there fore doesn't usually admit to it. On the odd occasion he will do so, but always takes everything with a pinch of salt any way, so he finds it easy to brush off the loss, even though he took it hard at the time.
Dorian loves the sound of laughter, it's the best sound in the world to him. Although not totally invested in it, he does like music. He prefers older music, but does like the occasional song on the radio. He learnt to play the guitar when he was eight but hasn't really picked it up since, as he's not that interested in it. He wasn't necessarily bad at playing the guitar, he just didn't feel like it was the right thing to persue in his life, and prefers to act and paint over playing music. Dorian is only very occasionally seen playing the guitar, and it's always an acoustic. He rarely ever picks up an electric guitar.
Dorian loves his brothers above everything in the world, and looks up to them as role models. There is eleven years between him and his oldest brother, and for as long as Dorian can remember his brothers took care of him and looked after him. They weren't necessarily good role models, hence why Dorian will never be the model son or the model student. However, they taught Dorian things he know he wouldn't have learnt other wise. He hadn't really ever told them but he does love them an awful lot, even though he does seem to act a little cold toward them at times. He aspises to be as grounded and free as his brother's are when he reaches their age, but very much doubts he will ever be like them. He does want to follow in their footsteps, but he also wants to be more successful than them, as both are underachievers. Dorian knows this is a great waste, because he can see the potential for something great within the both of them, but they'd prefer to do what Dorian does as a teenager and go out to raves and parties instead of concentrating on getting a career.
Dorian is a charismatic person, and can usually talk himself out of a problem. He doesn't usually land himself in one, and can usually manage to avoid confrontation, but when he does he enjoys debating and arguing with people. Dorian absolutely adores arguments between people, especially very violent ones, because verbal abuse toward him has never been a problem, as he has developed a quick tongue and a quick wit and can usually land an insult and disappear before anyone can properly understand what he's said. People have told Dorian he walks straight into arguments and traps, and he won't deny that, although prefers to think he just finds himself in those situations rather than believe he leads himself straight into them.
Dorian has been described as being very illogical about things that require a great deal of thought, such as going to college or what career he intends to follow. Dorian doesn't really like to watch 'life pass him by' and often makes decisions on the spot. He doesn't put a great deal of consideration into the things he decides, and usually does them very spontaneously. Dorian doesn't believe that the best routes of action are thought out, he believes that they are spontaneous and need no consideration, then you are one hundred percent sure and therefore that is the best course of action, whether anyone else thinks that or not doesn't really matter in the end.
Although he appears to be very sweet natured and kind, Dorian's very different if he loses his temper. Although it takes an awful lot to push Dorian to the edge where he does lose his temper, when he does it's just truly insane to see. Seeing Dorian mad makes you feel like the sweet person he actually is, is lost beneath his anger. Dorian has a very good patience and can stand things for a long time, which is quite surprising to some people. His anger is very rarely seen, and there are people he is friends with who could be friends with him for years and never ever see him lose it, but when Dorian does lose it - when he truly, truly gets mad - he is a nightmare to deal with. He will shout and scream and he will more than likely say things he will almost instantly regret saying. Luckily, it's quite an extraordinary thing to behold. Dorian, however, can be quite manipulated, his sweet nature is often taken advantage of and he can be taken along for a ride some times. He doesn't like seeing the bad in people, no matter what.
Despite all this, Dorian will stop at nothing to achieve what he wants, and he knows what he's doing, even when being manipulated to do something. Manipulation is something Dorian is a specialist in now, and can play people and pull them all just as well as they can him. He hs a strong resilience to a lot of things, especially when people say mean things toward him. He isn't the kind of person who gives satisfaction by immediately reacting to things. Dorian can be devious, and once he knows how to get underneath someone's skin or break them down, he will work tirelessly and endlessly at doing so.
Dorian has a habit of stealing things, not from his friends but generally from shops and people he doesn't really like. The sweet nature is sometimes a total cover for his actual intentions. He has stolen many things from many shops, and says he does it to get by, beause he doesn't get money from his parents like most kids his age. Dorian will steal absolutely anything that he possibly can if he is given the chance, ranging from cutlery to clothing to other odds and ends. If he is getting something for a friend, however, his sweet nature will prevail over his more devious side and will actually buy them something rather than just steal it from a shop.

history:
His parents met when they were sixteen years old, his father is Australian and his mother is English, and met after Jack gang of friends mugged Holly and her mother and Jack took pity on them and went back to make sure they were okay. At first Holly refused to have anything to do with Jack, before eventually becoming friendds with him, and he promised her he was no longer friends with the people he was friends with when she was mugged. At the age of seventeen Holly fell pregnant with their first child, and Jack and her had a rushed wedding after she found out she was pregnant, in a rush for the child not to be illegitimate. Of course, everyone already knew that Holly was pregnant out of wedlock, and when she received jibes from their neighbours Jack lost his cool and got into a fight. Jack was then partially blinded in one eye after the fight, which resulted in the police being called to break it up. After the fight Holly and Jack then moved to another house, with Jack continuing on with his acting.
Three years after the birth of the couple's first child, Oscar, named after Oscar Wilde, of whom Holly was a very big fan, she fell pregnant a second time. This time she named the child Ernest, after the Importance Of Being Ernest, a play by Oscar Wilde. Jack was, by then, flunking out of art college and eventually dropped out completely, appearing in several small, low budget movies and in several plays, but never reaching the success which he had wanted. It was another nine years untill Holly fell pregnant again, having completely sold all of her baby stuff, believing that she would not have any more children. When she fell pregnant at 29, she was shocked but not upset, as Jack and her had both wanted another child. By that time, Jack was working as a drama teacher and she was an office worker, quitting her job after she fell pregnant again. The family moved again, this time to Merseyside, where she gave birth to her third and final son, Dorian, named after the famed prose by Oscar Wilde, The Picture Of Dorian Grey.
Dorian found at a very early age that he had a certain charm, and he managed to make adults laugh without doing something stupid. He possessed a very distinct charisma, which he would indeed use when he got older. He grew up in Merseyside, his mother returned to work and his father was rarely around, and, as everyone knew, his father had an extramaritial affair. The affair finished after a few months and Holly and Jack considered splitting, but didn't. Dorian spent most of his time being raised by his grandmother and his grandfather in their flat in Liverpool. Dorian watched a lot of English comedies growing up, including Black Adder, Only Fools and Horses, The Young Ones and was a fan of comedy by Jasper Carrott and the like. Dorian, like his father, was very much interested in acting and comedy.
When Dorian was five years old his parents moved from Merseyside to New York when his father was offered a job over there. He was then enrolled in Upfront Theatre, a improvisation theatre founded by Ryan Stiles, a comedian that Dorian grew to be quite a big fan of. The family then relocated. His father, needless to say, was quite impressed by his youngest son's abilities, and continued to pour money which admittedly his family didn't really have in order to help his son become the best actor he could. Dorian began to feel the pressure, however, feeling like he was being made to live for not only himself but also his father due to his father's failure at being able to become a competent actor himself. Taking up several jobs in a bid to become more indepedant, Dorian started to fund himself. He moved out of the family house and into his own apartment with several others, trying to space himself from his dad, who had a growing anger problem.
In mid-2007 an argument broke out between Dorian and his father, Jack, when Jack was convincing him to enrol in another acting class. Dorian claimed he didn't want to do it, and would rather continue to work after his lessons at school rather than enrol in yet another class. Jack, seemingly angered by this, fought for his son to go to the lessons, and said he intended on paying for them. Dorian then told his father that he refused to live for his father and refused to having money poured into him when he wasn't even certain that it was what he wanted to do. Jack was insistant that Dorian attended the lessons and when Dorian slammed the door in his face when leaving he got increasingly angry and followed Dorian out into the garden, Holly in tow as she begged the pair to stop arguing. Dorian began to have an increasingly rocky relationship with his father, who worked as a drama teacher at a local high school. Dorian, however, wasn't even entirely sure what he wanted to do or what profession he intended to follow. Dorian's ability to adopt accents, in particular a Scouse accent, a London accent, an Australian one and also an American one made him a very versitile actor, and he was also able to speak in Irish, Scottish and Welsh accents. At school he was often in plays, although not necessarily the lead part, but was often given parts which included a lot of emphasis on him speaking a specific accent. He played Mark Renton in a local production of Trainspotting, Billy Flynn in Chicago, and, to the joy of his mother, played Ernest in The Importance of Being Ernest. When he was younger he had played Oliver in the musical of Oliver Twist.
In late 2007, and still continuing on, Dorian started to take his comedy much more seriously, and now occasionally performs at a comedy club, although he had done stand up before but not so seriously. He's is becoming very well known in the local comedy scene for his spontaneity and energy on stage, as well as his approach to more taboo subjects and his delivery of jokes. Learning very well from the improvisational theatre that he attended when he was younger Dorian also become quite sharp toungued and quick witted, especially when dealing with hecklers. Dorian is now in his last year at school and plans to go into university to do a BA. He has decided he wants to be a screenwriter and perhaps a director too. His relationship with his parents is now better than ever now they no longer live together.
